Glastonbury, CT – On Thursday, April 4, Interpreters and Translators, Inc. (iTi) and their renovation team partners accepted a Connecticut Preservation Award from the Connecticut Trust for the J.B. Williams Office Building located at 232 Williams Street in Glastonbury.

iTi purchased the J.B. Williams Office Building in 2016 as their new World Headquarters. They worked with a variety of local partners to renovate the building while maintaining the historical integrity. The building sits in the heart of the J.B. Williams Co. Historic District in Glastonbury. J.B. Williams Co. manufactured shaving soap, shampoo, and aqua velva lotion in a nearby factory. They built this Georgian revival building in 1909 as their office space. Reusing the Williams building is part of Glastonbury’s Plan of Conservation and Development which calls for protecting and preserving historic buildings.

At the height of success, J.B. Williams Co. was Glastonbury’s largest single employer with about 300 workers.

iTi is proud to continue the legacy of great Connecticut businesses as it continues to expand. The iTi team is 25 strong at the Connecticut Headquarters, and still growing, along with offices and additional staff in Quebradillas, PR and Denver, CO. “We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome of this project. Glastonbury is a great base for iTi and we are proud to continuously contribute to our local communities” remarked iTi President, Francesco Pagano.

iTi would like to thank the following companies for their hard work and dedication on this project, without which this nomination and award would not be possible: Crosskey Architects, LLC; Acorn Consulting Engineers, Inc.; Construction Resources, Inc.; Harper & Whitfield, P.C.; Wood Window Restoration by Historic House Guy; Rogerson Masonry; Innerglass Window Systems
