Interpreters and Translators, Inc. (iTi) is proud to announce that it has earned the distinguished ASTM F3130 Certification for language service companies. First of its’ kind, the ASTM F3130 Certification is specifically designed for language services including, but not limited to translation, language training, language testing, interpreting, and transcription.

This standard has been a long time coming and we greatly appreciate all the hard work by the ASTM working committee as well as the partnership between the Association of Language Companies and Orion Assessment Services to make this a reality for our industry,” remarked iTi President, Francesco Pagano.
The certification involves rigorous assessments of language service companies to establish minimum requirements for criteria such as:
- Operational health
- Financial health
- Insurance coverage
- Adherence to the law
- Client satisfaction
- Ability to recruit and screen employees and Independent Contractors
- Commitment to Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC)
- Adequacy of IT resources (hardware and software)
- Data and physical security
This new standard is the result of many years of hard work and collaboration between freelance linguists, language service companies, and language service purchasers in an effort to bring a higher level of professionalism and recognition within the language industry. It was developed to help prospective purchasers of language services to find reliable and capable language service companies. iTi is proud to be one of the first companies to become certified and hopes that the certification shows our commitment to providing quality services that you can always count on.
